Partner agents

Warm referrals with nothing to pay up front

Pointe Advantage helps home buyers and sellers keep more of their money with cash back at closing, and partner agents like you represent them. Join the network and we offer you clients in your markets who registered with us before contacting any agent. There's nothing to pay up front; a referral fee is due only when a deal closes.

Organizations you introduce

What an introduction can be worth

Clients from an organization you introduce are placed like every other client, with a partner agent who covers their market, and that can be you.

Outside the markets you cover, you earn an introduction fee on each closing: 5% of the commission, paid by Pointe Advantage from its referral fee.

  • Low

    $15,000a year

1 organization, 20 closings a year outside your markets

    20 × $750 per closing

  • Medium

    $52,500a year

3 organizations, 70 closings a year outside your markets

    70 × $750 per closing

  • High

    $150,000a year

5 organizations, 200 closings a year outside your markets

    200 × $750 per closing

$500,000 average price, 3% commission on each side, 5% introduction fee per closing outside the markets you cover; paid for as long as each organization remains a partner. Illustrative, not a guarantee.

Introduction fees are paid through your brokerage, as Michigan license law requires; your share follows its compensation plan.

Receiving referrals

From offer to closing

The client's cash back comes out of the referral fee, not on top of it.

  1. You receive an offer

You see the client's area, price range and timeline, and you accept or pass before the offer expires.

  2. You sign the client's referral agreement

Accepting sends it through DocuSign for you to review and sign. It states the referral fee in writing: a share of the commission on your side of the deal. The client's contact details open in your portal once it's signed.

  3. You represent the client

Reach out, log each contact and post updates in your portal as the file moves toward closing.

  4. You close and credit the cash back

Credit the client's cash back on the settlement statement, and your brokerage remits the balance of the referral fee to Pointe Advantage.

If the credit can't go on the settlement statement, your brokerage remits the full referral fee, and Pointe Advantage pays the client's cash back by check after closing, only where the client's lender and state law allow it. We never use this route to get around a lender's limit on credits. The total you pay is the same either way.

Client credits are subject to lender approval and state law. Cash back is paid from the real estate commission and never depends on which lender, title company or other settlement service provider a person chooses. Pointe Advantage does not refer clients to lenders.

Your agreement

Who you sign with

You keep your license and your brokerage. Once you're approved, you and your designated broker each sign our master participation agreement with Pointe Advantage LLC through DocuSign, and your portal opens when both signatures are in.

Referral fees are paid brokerage-to-brokerage under a written agreement with Pointe Advantage LLC, a licensed Michigan real estate broker, license #6505433843 (verify with the State of Michigan; opens in a new tab).

Questions partner agents ask

Do I need to be licensed in Michigan?

No. We look for partner agents in whichever states our clients are buying and selling, and you work under your own state's license.

Can I introduce an organization before I'm a partner agent?

Yes. You can make the introduction now. You can be offered the organization's clients and earn introduction fees only after you apply to join and sign the master participation agreement.

What happens after I introduce an organization?

We reply within one business day and agree with you how to approach your contact before we reach out to the organization. We run the briefing, the paperwork and the rollout. Organizations pay nothing and receive nothing.

Who is credited if two agents introduce the same organization?

We credit the introduction that leads to the organization signing with Pointe Advantage. If more than one agent introduces the same organization, or the same contact there, the first introduction we record is credited.

When is the introduction fee paid?

Once Pointe Advantage receives the referral fee on that closing.

Do you refer clients in states where cash back isn't available?

Yes. Where state law doesn't allow cash back, we can still introduce the client to a partner agent, without cash back. The states are listed in the Important Disclosures at the bottom of this page.
